Inspired by Kelly's video on rainbow colouring and experimented with watercolours.

Save sparrow

Dear Friends,

You are blessed if you are waken up by the sound of the little chirpy creatures around your house.
Yes, I am taking about House Sparrows.

It is not because of the mobile towers their numbers declined, it is because of our modern glass buildings and apartments which does not have little nooks & crannies in which they built their little home.

Unlike Purple sunbird, it don't know build it nest without nooks.
Hence friends install some nest boxes in your home and fill them with some grains and water in it. These will help their habitat and food.

Have you seen a sparrow dust bathing or water bathing in your area? Sparrows have the habit to return to the same place each time they feel the need for food, water and shelter.
It is we who destroyed their habitat, pls provide a space for them to live.

Have made a simple card dedicating to House Sparrows, which sings daily for me in my home.

A Quilled tree branch with a little sparrow and a bird house. Fence diecut with little sparrow hand drawn images and punched flowers.Misted the background with green and blue colours.

IQCG#29 - Incredible India

Dear Friends,

Running a challenge is blog is not that easy, if you don't have a good crew.

I am lucky enough to get a good set of DTs who traveled and traveling along with me in the journey of quilling and special thanks to our sponsors who have been very supportive to motivate the contestants by sending out lovely gifts.

Coming to the challenge theme of IQCG. As we celebrate the 70th Independence day this August and the name behind our blog, this month is dedicated to our country.

Indian Culture is the ancient and more than 5000 yrs old. Unity in diversity is our Mantra. Cultural heritage differs from state to state in India. India is a country that represents for cultural heritage, ancient monuments, literary arts, visual arts, schemes, programmes, performing arts, fairs and festivals, handicraft and many more.

The challenge is to create anything that represents our country

As I come from the state Kerala -  Fondly referred to as ‘God’s Own Country. Classical art forms, colourful festivals, exotic cuisine are some of the cultural marvels of Kerala

I have decided to create something which represents Kerala's culture.
From childhood, i admire the kathakali dance and chendamelam .

Kathakali is a classical art form of Kerala is a spectacular blend of dance, drama, mime and song presents the story themes derived from the Ramayana, the Mahabharata and other Hindu epics, myths and legends. The dance aspect consists of pure dance and as well as mime.Facial expressions by artists will be fresh in your mind

Kathakali face was my longing desire to quill.

Quilled kathakali face

Look forward to your beautiful submission here
